The liver is the most important detoxifying organ in the body, so it makes sense to drink fruits and vegetables to help it function at its best. Here is a list of detox drink recipes that can be incorporated into any detox program you’re following, or just enjoyed on their own for their immense health benefits…
Carrot,Apple Beetroot Juice – These three powerful foods gives you the ultimate vitamin and mineral boost, and can be counted as two of your vegetable portions and one of your fruit portions for the day. It is enriched with nutrients that are essential in helping the body detox and metabolize food.
Cucumber Detox Water to lose weight -This great detox water not only rids your body of toxins but helps to flush fat from your body as well. Cucumbers are diuretics can help you to avoid water retention. Lemons and limes help to flush out toxins from your digestive tract and grapefruits help you to burn fat. Just add ½ gallon of spring water, ½ of a medium grapefruit (sliced), ½ a cucumber (sliced), ½ each of a sliced lemon and lime and a couple of mint leaves. Allow the ingredients to sit in the fridge for a couple of hours before serving and drink at least ½ gallon per day for optimal results.
Charcoal Black Lemonade – Activated charcoal is charcoal made from coconut, peat, coal or wood that’s been heated with a gas that creates internal pores, making it very absorbent. It’s traditionally administered in emergency rooms to treat poisoning or drug overdoses.More recently, juice brands have been adding activated charcoal to lemon juice, water and sweetener (or to other juice blends) to create a beverage that they claim does everything from general detoxing to boosting metabolism to curing hangovers.
Delicious Fruit Detox Water – This detox water has strawberries and kiwis and is the perfect summer drink. All You need is 2 liters of water, 2 strawberries and 2 kiwis. Just chop your kiwis and strawberries, add to your water and sit in the fridge for a couple of hours to let it seep. The kiwi has vitamins A and E which will help you to rid your body of free radicals and they help to flush toxins from your colon. Strawberries are great for your skin and then contain anti-aging properties and help to fight carcinogens. You can add more or less fruit depending on your taste preferences or add different fruits or a mint sprig for a completely new taste.
Ginger Lemon Detox Drink – Ginger is extremely powerful and detoxing. It helps kick start your metabolism, and will keep it raised throughout the day, allowing you to burn extra calories when you work out. Lemons are also a natural detoxifier that have a diuretic effect, helping your body get rid of unwanted toxins.
Cinnamon Apple Detox Water – Not only does this delicious water not have any calories, it’s great for slimming down and ridding your body of harmful toxins. It also helps to boost your metabolism. You will need a gallon sized pitcher filled with spring water and you can refill the pitcher three or four times using the same apples and cinnamon sticks. You need a thinly sliced apple (whatever your favorite type) and a cinnamon stick. Just add those to your water and cover about ½ of the pitcher with ice before filling with water. It’s best if you let them sit in the fridge for an hour or so before serving. You can add additional apple slices or cinnamon if you prefer a stronger taste.
