But did you know that you can cook using a dishwasher? Not only can you use a dishwasher to cook an entire meal, but you can get your dirty dishes clean at the same time. It’s the finest form of multitasking. The idea of cooking foods in the dishwasher alongside my dirty plates just seemed absurd — but the efficiency actually does make sense.

All you need are containers that can withstand a little heat (The internal temperature of a dishwasher ranges from 130 degrees to 150) and are waterproof. You don’t want soap getting into your food! Mason jars are the perfect way to cook in your dishwasher.The intent is to cook the food evenly so it will retain its moisture and not dry out.

If you do want to cook with your dishwasher, you’ll need jars that are air-tight. There are people who swear by using foil to cook in the dishwasher, but foil can be damaged and you could end up with a big mess rather than an easy cleanup.

The next step is choose foods that require steaming, boiling, or simmering. Now puts each dish into a Mason jar, and adds seasoning, and water.When done taste and enjoy the meal.

How to Cook in the Dishwasher

Place the jars with the ingredients on the top rack of your dishwasher, and set to whatever washing cycle you prefer. Make sure the lids of the jars are sealed well, place them in the dishwasher among the dirty dishes, and let the dishwasher run for the entire cycle. Because the jars are secure, you can cook right alongside your dirty dishes, making it a fun and efficient way to prepare dinner in a different way. Most dishwashers are manufactured to heat
around 140 to 145 F, so you’re basically poaching your foods, which gives everything lots of flavor.When the cycle is finished, allow your jars to cool slightly, then pour off most of the cooking liquid and serve.
