Spray This and You Will Never See Ants in Your Home
Tiny ants don’t need a large opening to find their way inside your home — the smallest crack or crevice will do just fine! What makes ants such challenging adversaries is that they tend to congregate in large numbers. Once one worker ant finds a readily available food source inside your home, you can be sure he’ll head back to the colony to tell the rest of the clan.
Sure, they’re cute on the silver screen, but you don’t want ants taking up residence in your home, it might be tempting to use strong chemicals to take them all out as soon as possible. However, pesticides are unhealthy for humans, pets, and other beneficial creatures you might want hanging around your property. The good news is that there are so many highly effective ways to kill ants without pesticides that there’s really no need to turn to them. Take a few straightforward precautions and your place will soon be an ant-free zone.
According to research by Stanford University, ants come into our homes and apartments because of weather conditions. The National Library of Medicine’s Toxicology Data Network reports that at the time of exposure, cypermethrin — one of two active ingredients in Raid Ant & Roach Spray — can cause shortness of breath, coughing and congestion. It can also cause an asthma attack and wheezing.
The primary ingredient in most commercial insecticides is a nerve agent that disrupts the insects’ nervous system through direct contact. These toxic chemicals can have the same effects on humans if enough of the agent enters the body.
Rather than using harmful chemicals in and around your home to get rid of ants, opt to use peppermint essential oil. This can be sprinkled in the bathroom or in the kitchen, in areas that ants frequently visit. Ants don’t like strong smells. They mess up their scent trails and communication, not to mention it covers their bodies if they literally have to crawl right through it-which they do, with this essential oil spray.

Did you know?
Ants are as attracted to water as they are to food, so it’s important to keep surfaces in your home dry–including sinks!
How long do ants live?
The average life expectancy of an ant is only a few weeks. But the colony itself will live for years. That’s why it’s necessary to be aggressive when battling them. You can’t wait for them to die off!
