What is endometriosis?
The endometrium is the tissue that lines the inside of the womb (uterus).

Recognizing the Symptoms of Endometriosis:

The symptoms of endometriosis vary. Some women experience mild symptoms, but others can have moderate to severe symptoms. The severity of your pain doesn’t indicate the degree or stage of the condition. You may have a mild form of the disease, yet suffer from agonizing pain. It’s also possible to have a severe form and have very little discomfort.

Pelvic pain is the most common symptom of endometriosis. You may also have the following symptoms:

  • painful periods
  • pain in the lower abdomen before and during menstruation
  • cramps one or two weeks around menstruation
  • heavy menstrual bleeding or bleeding between periods
  • infertility
  • pain following sexual intercourse
  • discomfort with bowel movements
  • lower back pain that may occur at any time during your menstrual cycle

You may also have no symptoms. It’s important that you get yearly gynecological exams. This will allow your gynecologist to monitor any changes. This is particularly important if you have two or more symptoms.

Samantha’s mother passed away from complications arising from ovarian cancer when she was five years old, when Samantha hit puberty she started having painful periods each month, all the literature she read about uterine issues , painful perios, fibroids and endometiosis told her that her condition was hereditary. 1. Getting alkaline: An acidic body is not a healthy body. An alkaline diet can boost your energy, help you sleep better, slow down aging, protect against cancer, and keep your mind sharp. By eating a diet that consists primarily of alkaline foods, about 70–80%, you can drastically improve your quality of life.

Samantha started eating and drinking fresh fruit and vegetable juices every day. Pre packed juice to be avoided as they contain added sugar, flavoring, chemicals and preservatives, consume only fresh fruit juices.

She also cut down on her dairy and red meat consumption (down to almost nothing) and opted for fish over chicken whenever possible.

Emotions and habitual thought patterns also have a powerful effect on our bodies’ pH.

Detoxing: Main purpose of detoxing is to aid our body in healing.Doing a detox is like hitting a reset button for your body. It will help to increase your energy levels, balance your hormones, improve digestion, give your adrenals a much needed break, help break cravings and make you feel joyous all over, not to mention beautiful glowing skin.

Minimise exposure to harmful chemicals by switching to all-natural soaps, shampoos and deodorant.Avoided drinking out of plastic bottles and switch to aluminium tumblers (because of the chemical leech when water is kept in plastic too long).Use all-natural DIY toothpaste because of the fluoride in commercial toothpastes.Change from commercial liquid soaps and shampoos (which are full of chemicals) to natural hard soaps and shampoos.

Using ginger and turmeric: Ginger and turmeric were useful for healing uterine issues,so Samantha used these two ingrediants in her daily diet.

Ginger Tea recipe: The secret to the perfect healing ginger tea? Lots and lots of fresh ginger, simmered for a long time to bring out the flavor, and the lime which compliments the ginger perfectly, and plenty of natural agave nectar or honey for a refined sugar-free sweetener (or you might prefer it unsweetened, depending on your health goals).

Turmeric concoction: Take a half teaspoon of turmeric powder in a little hot water with a pinch of sea salt for taste. This didn’t taste good so take it occassionally.

Iodine and magnesium chloride supplementation:The greater the iodine deficiency, the greater the number of cysts in the ovaries. In women, sustained iodine deficiency can lead to a host of uterine, thyroid and hormonal issues—including breast and ovarian cysts as well as fibroids.

Taking high doses of Vitamin C was very helpful for Samantha , it not only minimised her detox symptoms, but also cleared her intestinal receptors so that the iodine can be absorbed more readily.
